Analyzed in this report are measures of the following social and demographic indicators from each of the 50 United States:

• Population – number in the population in thousands, as of 1 July 1975
• Income - income per capita in 1974
• Illiteracy - illiteracy as a percent of the population in 1970
• LifeExp - life expectancy in years during 1969-1971
• Murder - murder and non-negligent manslaughter rate per 100,000 members of the population during 1976
• HSGrad - percent high-school graduates
