Week Four Presentation Objective

This peer assessed assignment has two parts. First, you will create a Shiny application and deploy it on Rstudio's servers. Second, you will use Slidify or Rstudio Presenter to prepare a reproducible pitch presentation about your application.

Introduction - Store Discount Dollars Analysis

This analysis looks at the number of customer transactions that take place over a given period of time. Additionally, it compares the total sales as well as the amount of discount dollars that were provided to the customer to achieve those sales. This is important to understand in a retail environment as you want to achieve the right balance between sales and discounts to maximize the profit potential.

Data Definitions

The following are the definitions of the key data elements used in the analysis.

  • Sales - the total sales for a given day.
  • Discount Dollars - the number of dollars in discounts provided to customers.
  • Transactions - the number of transations in a given day.
