Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to help you to familiarize yourself with the concept of visualization task taxonomy or typology. There are two sections to this task. Submit to Moodle a document with named “YourName_Class_Semester.doc”

Question 1:

Create a table that mimics the empty table in the image. And fill in the associations between vis types and the tasks they are trying to accomplish. The second image is meant to show you an example of each of the visualization types.

Question 2:

For this collect three visualizations from the Internet and include for each a short description of the tasks they are trying to perform.

Visualization 1: This graph is a visualization of various restaurant cuisines in the US. Visualization 3: This graph is a visualization of what words Men and Women Use When they write about Love. It is an exploration of the words used in thousands of essay submissions. When writing about love, men are more likely to write about sex, and women about marriage. Women write more about feelings, men about actions.
