# Introduction

Today our group is going to discuss our findings on why we believe there are so many seasonal homes in New Hampshire. We believe we have enough compelling information to convince you of our findings! We will be using numbers like income, seasonal homes %, and age!

# Newspaper Article

We have inserted a link below that is going to talk about the economic impacts of second homes in NH! The article opens up and talks about how NH is one of the largest states percentage wise with seasonal homes. Third to be exact. The article then goes on to discuss which towns have the largest percentage of seasonal homes. It then describes the economic impact these seasonal homes have on NH and the people here. # So why is that the case?

As you look above at the data and we understand that it’s a lot to process. However, as we dissected the actual numbers we saw that New Hampshire has 12% of seasonal homes in the entire state! So out of 100% of homes, 12% of them are labeled as “Seasonal Vacant”. This is considered the 3rd largest according to NH Business review! So now that we see it’s so high why is it like that?

# So why is that the case?

As you look at the previous slide it shows that the median income \$58,464. According to NH Business review, this is the 7th largest in the states of highest median income. This shows that the state has a very high median income. It can also tell us that the state has a great education system. Increasing the likelihood that as they get older they will start looking towards a “Seasonal Vacant” home because they have the money and NH is a beautiful place to stay.

# So why is that the case?

We see in the previous slide that the median age in NH is 46.3 years old. This can also attest to why there are so many seasonal homes here! According to NH Business review, NH is the third oldest average state. Showing that older people are either here or moving in with pensions and investment incomes looking to buy a seasonal home.

# So why is this the case?

As we look at the previous slide we get a chance to see exactly how many seasonal homes are not only in NH but how many seasonal homes are in each town! This gives our question credibility by showing that yes there are tons of homes that are here in NH but a very good chunk of them are seasonal.

# So to summarize:

We’ve gone over several variables today that go through age, income, trends, and even percentages of seasonal homes in NH. We showed you guys an article from NH Business review that further established our credibility as well. NH is a beautiful place and it is now very clear as to why there are so many seasonal homes here. Besides all the great things there are to do here we see that NH is an incredibly old state with a very high income. This further proves to everyone why we have so many seasonal homes here in our great state.
