Comparison of height histograms: The range between men’s heights overlaps the range for women’s heights with women being on the lower end and men being on the higher end. What I mean by women being on the lower end is women having a minimum height of 150 cm while men have a minimum of 160. Women also have a maximum height of 180 cm while men have a maximum of around 200 cm. Men have a peak height around 180 cm with the second and third highest peaks being 185 and 175 respectively. The highest peak for women is around 170 with the second and third highest being 165 and 160 respectively. The frequency of heights between 160 and 170 for women seem more evenly distributed while men have a dramatic spike at 180 and a drop at either side of that peak.

Exercise 2: Is there a nearly normal distribution? Yes I do think there is nearly a normal distrubution. It is just a bit left skewed but because it sits under the bell it appears more like a normal distribution than left skewed.

The simulated plot has a greater number of plot points that land on the line than the plot for fdims. The simulated plot also has fewer outliers at the top of the line. The similarities between the two plots lie in the bottom outliers. Both plot graph have greater outliers in the bottom with the plots landing above the line.

Exercise 4 The normal probability plot for fdims is similar but falls on the line less than the plots for the simulated data. The simulated plot has more plots that land on the line making the plot appear to have one solid black line, while the fdims plot has a little variation. This variation gives it less of a straight line. However, there are enough plots that land on or close to the line for me to say female heights are nearly normal.

After following the same steps for female weight, it appears that the weight is not a normal distribution. In the histogram the bars and bell both skew to the left, but the bars are further to the left than the bell. Also the peak bar in the histogram is further to the left than the peak of the bell. When comparing the plot of weight to the plot of the simulation, we see that the simulation is similar to the height simulation, most of the plots are on the line. When you look at the plot of the weight, the plots curve upward more on each end so less plot points are on the line.
