The purpose of this report is to describe the impact of storms and severe wheater events across the Unites States of America. Our hypothesis is that many severe events can result in fatalities, injuries, and property damage. So, preventing as many of those events to the extend possible could have major positive impact in the USA communities. To investigate this hypothesis we obtained the data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) storm database. The events in the database start in the year 1950 and end in November 2011. In the earlier years of the database there are generally fewer events recorded, most likely due to a lack of good records. More recent years should be considered more complete.
