- sees patients 8am to noon
- spends 6-14min (avg: 10) with each patient Random.Triangular(6,10,14)
- can see a max of 24 patients per day or 6 per hour
- Will stay until all scheduled patients
- Unhappy if scheduled appointments require staying past 12:30pm
- Arrivals (Staff scheduling):
- scheduled arrival every 10 minutes
- Patients:
- Arrive as much as 15 minutes early or 30 minutes late
- 10% of patients never show at all
- no show take Dr’s time slot and time slot is not recoverable.
- Capture:
- Number of patients seen per day
- Average patients waiting time
- How late must the doctor stay to see all scheduled patients?
- Evaluate:
- Alternative schedules to maximize the number of patients the Dr can see
- e.g. scheduling 2-3 arrivals every 20 minutes.

Model 7-2:
This model required an additional feature to allow a patient to devolve from “urgent” to “severe” 10% of the time.
