Hey! I’m Sinduja, a current graduate in the Masters in Business Analytics program at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. I am learning various statistical analysis tools such as R and SAS and I’m excited to explore and uncover stories from seemingly unintelligible data using these tools and effective visualization.. I love solving puzzles and travelling!..I am often complimented by my friends and former colleagues for my pro-activeness, adaptability and reliability

Professional Background

I worked with Fidelity Investments for two years as a Software Test Engineer. I predominantly analysed business requirements to identify gaps in the final applications developed by our team. I also spent majority of my time automating front end applications using Java and the Selenium framework.
I worked as a research intern in the field of data mining at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Chennai, India. I created an algorithm using C to efficiently mine maximal frequent itemsets which was then used in deciding the placement strategy of items in a supermarket.. This subsequently lead to a 12% increase in the monthly revenue .. :-)

Experience with R

At Fidelity Investments, I used R to build a regression model to identify factors influencing the defects found in applications.. This was my only professional encounter with R. At UC, I attended the boot camp and also started using R for Statistical COmputing and the Statistical Methods courses. Prior knowledge and experience with programming languages such as JAVA, C, C++, has made learning R quite easy and interesting..
