Hand-in: Via an electronic document on Sakai. Details will be provided in class and I will put an assignment “Homework 1” on Sakai. If you are already familiar with RMarkdown, it is fine to use this format. If not, Word will be fine for this assignment. All plots will have to be copy-pasted into the Word document.
We are not familiar with R Markdown yet, so your first homework can be turned in as a .pdf document. I know many of the textbook questions are answered on the internet, but do yourself a favor and try to work them out, either on your own or with another Tarheel.

Choose one of the data sets that comes with the tidyverse package, but not mpg. With this data set, complete the following two exercises:
Create a visualization that makes thoughful use of color. Explain something revealed by the visualization that could be useful.
From the same dataset, create a visualization that overlays two different geoms in a thoughtful way.
For each of the above, make clear what dataset you are using and what your graphic is intended to convey.
