SPDR S&P500 ETF and VIX Index

The following chart shows the SPDR S&P500 ETF since 2007. The color of the markers depends on the Volatility (VIX):

  • HIGH if Volatility Index is higher than 25
  • LOW if Volatility Index is lower than 25

Moments where VIX is HIGH seem to denote bottoms in the S&P 500 Index.
