My name is Steffani Gomez, I’m 21, turning 22 in a month, and I’m a first year at the Wake Forest School of Business, working toward a M.S. in the Business Analytics program. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, I came to the states as a toddler and was raised in Orlando, Florida. My interests include watching cinema and jamming to whatever musical phase I’m going through, currently very into alternative R&B.

Academic Background

I would consider myself to be a very strong programmer, with a lot of coursework in theory and software development. In the last year and a half at Brown, I became very interested in data science, having found a field in computer science that combines my love of math and computing with tech. As a result of this, I began taking advanced math classes and pursuing projects with a heavy math component, and I’d love to learn more math.

Professional Background

I have done my own research projects in big data and data visualization in Python and C# with .NET Core, respectively alongside professors and research groups at Brown. I have also worked as a student developer at Brown.

Experience with R

I have used R in one other class, but it was about two years ago. However, I’m quite excited to learn, since I’ve had peers who have conducted entire class projects in R, which always impressed me.

Experience with Other Analytical Software

I have experience with the following software/programming language:
