A Bit About Myself!

Hi! My name is Caroline Moss, I’m a new Demon Deacon at the University of Wake Forest where I am currently pusuing my Master’s degree in Business Analytics. I’m from the small town of Richburg, South Carolina, which is located in Chester County. There, I lived with my mother, father, and older brother on a small family “farm” that kept us all busy tending to hay, cows, horses, goats, chickens, cats, and our Chesapeake Bay Retreiver, Charlie.

After graduating from the Business Analytics program, I plan on moving down to Charleston to start my career while my now-fiance (by then, husband) will be finishing up his schooling in dentistry. Ultimately, my goal is to move closer back home where both of our families are and settle into a more permanent position in Charlotte. With the skills Wake will provide, I believe I’ll be able to excel in a position within the ever-growing analytics field.

Experience with R and other Software

Throughout all of my education, I have not had any exposure to R or other analytic software. I have become most familiar with Excel and the Microsoft suite, but coding is completely new to me. I think it is an incredibly useful skill to have, so I’m very excited to try to soak in as much information as I can about these languages. I believe this quality will make graduates of Wake’s MSBA program much more marketable and will help in the job search!

Fun Facts!

  • Over one Spring Break, I traveled to Cuba with a group of Political Science students and was able to explore the country and learn about its complex political system.
  • I was granted a scholarship to study Economics for a summer course at Auburn University (Mises Institute), where I met a range of people from all over the world interested in Economic theories.
  • I have done work with a dog rescue center, and got the chance to foster one that was abandoned at my work place. Eventually he was sent to a facility in Rhode Island and was adopted within a couple of weeks! click here to see his Adoption Day!
