Hiya! My name is Lauren Formica. I am current Master of Science in Business Analytics Class of 2018 student at Wake Forest University.
Prior to enrolling in the MSBA program, I worked for Wake Forest as a Program Coordinator in the Center for Global Programs & Studies.
I have a deep love of travel and I am always on the lookout for the next adventure! This is my current dream.
Post the MSBA program, I would love to work in federal consulting, market research, or in the trade & development industry.

- My primary responsibility was to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the Global Village, the first Learning & Living Community at Wake. I was also responsible for organizing and executing other Global Campus Programs such as the WISE Conference and International Student programming.

- Currently, I am working with Dr. Alessandra Von Burg to develop citizenship theory on the recent migration of people from North Africa into Italy. We have also written academic papers on the recent and ongoing influx of refugees from Syria into Europe. Each summer we go to Europe for field work and then spend the rest of the year writing, sharing, and educating folks on issues of migration and mobility.

- While working at INM, I was responsible for conducting a comprehensive analysis on instituting a home delivery system for all INM titles. Much of my Excel training was completed during my time with INM.
Experience with R
I have no prior experience in R, but I am eager to learn! Although Group 14 sits in the back of the class, we hope our excitement radiates to the front of the room!
Experience with other analytic software
Prior to beginning the MSBA Program, I used a few other analytic software programs:
- Excel (Used for basic analysis and data visualization in previous job and internship)
- STATA (Used in my Econometric courses in undergrad)
- Python (Self-taught over the past three months)
