The first function data(iris) says that we want to use that dataset second use of the command iris pulls it up. Summary(iris) gives the min max mean median first quartile and third quartile. The str(iris) gives what kind of data it is ex. num or factor and it also gives the levels of categorical variables. Head(iris)gives the first six rows of data and puts in the column and row titles.

Q5: Draw on your knowledge of ecology to justify your determination of which variables were independent and dependent for Q3 and Q4.

For Q3 the name of the species is the independent variable which is the thing we change and the dependent variable is the length because that is what we’re measuring based on the change. For Q4 I’m going to say that Width is the independent variable because with the changing width it would change the surface area causing more or less light to be absorbed causing the plant to be able to grow more or less.
