Overview of analyses

All analyses show change in affect from pre-to-post NSSI thought or NSSI behavior.

The figures show the mean levels of composite measures of NA and PA, as well as the various components included in the study.

The regression weight and p values come from three level multi-level models: responses (pre/post) within NSSI episodes within people, controlling for time between pre- and post- assessment.

All models are centered within people. So, this means that a score of 0 means the person’s average for that variable. (So, I’m sort of thinking that all of the neg. affect variables being above 0 means that people are thinking about / engaging in NSSI when they have ANY form of negative affect, but NSSI only relieves certain forms of it )
