Maj. Jason Freels, PhD & Brad Boehmke, PhD
28/29 March 2017
This training event was sparked at a Tableau User Group (10/2016)
Dr Suman Goel & Jeff Haines expressed that many in AFRL either currently use or are interested in using R
Users find it difficult to make traction in R due to the lack of available training resources
AFIT has received many requests for assistance in data science research and education
Goals for this training
Serve the data science needs of AFRL/AFMC workforce
Present AFIT’s capabilities for data science training and research
Gain insight on what types of training are needed moving forward
The Data Science Lab is an extension of the AFIT education and research mission that focuses on promoting evidence-based decision making by developing, implementing, and teaching the art of integrating advanced analytic techniques, large and complex datasets, and computer programming.
