Project Assignment III: Final Draft

Please submit the knitted html document to me via email by midnight on the last day of exams (3/16). You can also publish your work on RPubs by simply clicking the “publish” button in RStudio’s output of RMarkdown. In this case just send me the link to the document.

There is no specified length but I envision no more than 10 pages including tables and graphs. Normally, the document should include the following five sections:

• Introduction, including what is your question, why is it important, how it relates to what others have done
• Description of your data, including sources, variable construction, tidying and checking of data
• Exploratory analysis, including plotting your data and descriptive statistics
• Statistical modeling, including estimation of algorithms, making and evaluating predictions
• Conclusion

You should read Data Analytic Style by Jeff Leek. It provides excellent guidance on writing up modern data analyses.

I will grade your work on the following criteria:

• Clarity of writing
• Integration of subject-matter knowledge and the data analysis
• Creativity and complexity of the analysis
• Appropriate use of analytic methods
• Organization and neatness of the final document
