School Year 2014-15 NCES CCD School Level data is split into six files: 1. Directory 2. Staff 3. Lunch 4. Membership 5. Characteristics 6. Geography
This document presents a quick view of the contents of each of the six files such as number of records, data type of the variables, etc. More detailed information about the variables are available in the data dictionaries, provided by NCES. Links to the data dictionaries are included in this document. Also. shown in this document is how the missing values are coded. In general, NCES assigns -1 or -2 to "missing" and "not applicable" records respectively in numeric variables. For NEA's analytics purposes, both categories are treated equally and recoded as 'NA' - which is treated as blank in R environment.
