Location

FCT is the federal capital and seat of the government of Nigeria. It was founded in 1976 and the territory borders three states, namely- Nassarawa, Niger and Kogi. FCT boasts of a subtropical climate and lies in the savannah vegetation belt.

Administration

Abuja is divided into six administrative units known as Area Councils. These are- Abaji, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwa;i. See leaflet map below for their geographical locations.

Demography
