B.M.I. Calculation

B.M.I = (Weight in pounds)/(Height in inches2 ) * 703 kg/m2

Example B.M.I on R dataset {women}

  • This dataset has the height and weight information of women in America
  • Will calculate the B.M.I values on this dataset to understand the mean B.M.I value of the female population in America

Histogram on R dataset {women}

bmi = women$weight/(women$height^2)*703
mx = mean(bmi)
hist(bmi, xlab="B.M.I.(kg/m2)", breaks=5, main="Histogram of B.M.I.")
abline(v = mx, col = "blue", lwd = 2)
