On football two teams compete along 90 minutes, and the team which more goals anotate is the winner. But if at the end of the game the two teams anotate equal number of goals, there is a draw. English Premiere League is the most claimed football league in the world. So, I decide to take this league as target (also I love it) to show some basics stats. But you can find all the data sets and much more thanks to football-data.co.uk On the app, you can select one team as local (home team) and another as visitor (away team), and then the app will show you:
In this example, I selected Chelsea (my favourite team) as the Home team, and the Arsenal as the Away team. You can see 10 times Chelsea has win as local, 7 times Arsenal has win to Chelsea (being Chelsea the local or home team), and six times the games has ended in a draw.
In concordance with the previous bar plot, here you can see the density distribution of the goal difference at the end of the previous games between Chelsea as local and Arsenal as visitor: this difference tends to be zero and there's a low probability that the difference in goals is more than two… When Chelsea is local, there is a little trend towards the Chelsea win, in accordance with the trend in the Premiere League and in football in general: Home win.
Finally, may be you are so interested in numbers and statistics and wanna see by yourself the numbers. So here is the table of all the previous games between the two teams.
