The Introduction to PharmApp

Summary

The Application of PharmApp is designed for pharmaceutical analysis scientists to search for the concentration of medcine, obtain plot and get AUC values. There are 3 functions provided in the App.

  • Search for the concentration of indomethacin according to the subject number and time at which the blood sample are drawn.
  • Obtain the pharmacokinetics of Indomethacin by different subjects.
  • Get the Area Under Curve (AUC) value, which represents the total drug exposure over time.

Indomethacin Data Exploration

The Indomethacin Data is obtained from R datasets which contains 66 rows and 3 columns of data on the pharmacokinetics of indometacin.

  • Subject: the subject codes, the ordering of which is according to increasing maximum response.
  • Time:Times at which blood samples were drawn (hr).
  • Conc:Plasma concentrations of indometacin (mcg/ml).

Pharmacokinetics Plot Example

Here is a pharmacokinetics plot of Indomethacin. The axis of X is time (hr) and the y axis is indomethacin concentration (mcg/ml). The AUC value is obtained by calculating the sum of each area for each time interval.
