The performance is often lower than 1, meaning that projects normally generate less CERs than expected.
Hover over axis and drag to select a region. Click on axis title and drag axis to new location. Multiple selections per axis are required. Multiple selection filters as “and”.
Status of projects and days to registration & issuance were obtained from UNEP DTU partnership.
Performance of projects (issued/expected CERs), number of projects, number of issuances and size of issuances were obtained from the IGES CDM Database.
Unfortunately, there are no publicly available figures beyond the first issuance per project. Only the date of the first issuance is recorded in the IGES CDM Database. This masks the performance of both DOE’s and the UNFCCC Secretariat.
Raw data is read from a variety of sources: from the web (scrapers), databases, Excel files, text files and even PDF files. The raw data nearly always have issues that have to be dealt with (“scrubbing”), such as outliers (unexpected high or low values), blanks (missing or not applicable?), and inconsistencies (“male, female, other”). Normally this takes 60-80% of the time in a data project. The cleaned data then have to be aggregated and visualized. Additional steps are clustering, machine learning, time series analysis, survival analysis, etc.
