Shiny

Shiny is a web application framework for R that allows users to create interactive apps without having to know:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

Server Space

You can either host your apps

  • shinyapps.io: free from RStudio, but really slow.
  • On your own servers via Shiny Server Pro:
    • More resources can be allocated.
    • Apps can be branded with your domain.
    • Free for academic institutions with proof of syllabus.

  • Code: most of the code is dplyr and ggplot2, shiny code is minimal.
  • Can be assessed outside the VPN.
