- The glyphs used are two dots and a line connecting them.
- The aethestics of this glyphs are the x and y positions and the change in those points.
- Time is mapped to the x-axis and change in family income (needed to pay costs of attending college) is mapped to the y - axis.
- This example does not have any instance of faceting.
- For this example, the scale would be the value of the variables at their positions. An increasing number would mean the positions would change up and/or right and vice-versa.
- The two variables are time and change in family income needed to pay costs for attending college.
- There are titles under each set of glpyhs to represent which fifth of the population would fall under the respective glyphs.
- It’s a x - y coordinate system (minus any lines to indicate position) with dots representing the starting date (1971), a line connecting the starting dot to the ending dot, and the ending dot representing the ending date (2011).
