Week 9 Assignment Approach - NYT Most Popular API

Introduction (Approach)

For this assignment, I will keep it relatively simple and use the New York Times Most Popular API to find out which sections produced the most viewed articles over the past 30 days. I plan to request the most viewed list for a 30 day period and count how many of those articles come from each section.

The list is around 20 articles so the results will provide a short term picture of what Times readers are into at the moment. The response includes nested fields such as subject tags and images that aren’t needed for this analysis, so I plan to keep only a few columns like title, section, and publication date.
