NYT API Approach

For this assignment, We will be connecting to an online API to directly pull data into an R code base, where we will then look to answer some data question.

From my initial research into the NYT API system, I think it could be interesting to look at popular (or all) articles published on NYT, and track how trends in topic popularity have changed throughout the years.

I plan to get my API key situated, and from there find a library that will allow for the direct pull. from there, I will tidy the data, sort by years, and start working through the analysis portion.

I have, through the last 2 weeks of exercises, had issues with API’s and understanding how smoothly these tools integrate into R. I have not tried this yet so I expect some friction getting the ball rolling. Once its all into R I can continue to use the skills we have built over this semester.
