About this report

This report explores vegetation-cover patterns across land-use classifications using the 2018 Victorian vegetation dataset. It presents interactive visualisations of tree cover and total vegetation cover.

The analysis currently focuses on vegetation. It does not yet test relationships with urban heat or social vulnerability.

Data limitations

This can be used as a descriptive account of limitations in the analysis, as long as they truly apply to your analysis: - The database includes repeated Mesh Block IDs since the spatial data is further subdivided into sub-polygons. DataVic - The land use data was aggregated using a method that is unverified and so the figures presented should be considered tentative. - This analysis is based on 2018 data and so is not indicative of the current state of vegetation. - This report examines the presence of vegetation but does not determine its link to urban heat and social vulnerability.
