Approach

I selected the U.S. EPA FuelEconomy.gov vehicle data dataset directly from the publishing agency. My original source is: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/epadata/vehicles.csv

The source has several measurements in separate columns, which is why I can use pivot_longer() without first inventing a wide table. I will keep the original download in data/raw, check the imported column names and missing values, then reshape selected related measurements into a tidy table. I will work from that table to build a small summary and chart. I will check the number of rows before and after pivoting and document any excluded records.

This dataset was selected independently. It does not use another student’s dataset, code, or discussion analysis.
