#Overview

The graphs aim to analyze the self reported data of students regarding their sense of Locus of Control regarding their performance on their tests. The cohorts used are 2021 Fall, 2022 Fall, 2023 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2024 Fall, 2026 Spring. 2026 Spring has been separated into two different cohorts since some data was asked post dense and some was asked post exam. Additionally there are two different grading scales that were used, most data was collected with an internally created one.

Locus of Control Across all Cohorts and Exams

Most of the data seems to be pointing to an overall high internal locus of control for more students. This data used the internal grading scale so it does not include data from 2024 fall nor 2026 spring post exam (exam 1) data. Students were asked to report what influenced their exam performance from 1 to 100, 1 being completely outside factors and 100 being completely internal factors.

Locus of Control per Cohort

Distributions resemble main distribution but differences across cohorts are noticeable. 2024 data set is not available because it was measured using an ASQ questionnaire instead of the manatee measuring scale from 1 to 100. The data for 2026 spring in dark blue represents the data taken post dense (exam 1, 2, and 3). The data in dark orange for 2026 spring was recorded post exam (exam 2, 3, and 4)

ASQ Grading Scale

These measures only apply to the 2024 fall cohort and the data for exam 1 post exam of spring 2026. For these cohorts a set of 12 factors was given to students from which they had to pick the top three most relevant factors that influenced their performance and score in the test. They were then asked to through the use of a slidebar give the factor a score from 1 to 7 reflecting their control on said factor, the handles for the scale were; 1 = attribute circumstances to others completely, 7 = attribute circumstance to me completely. The factors are displayed on the left side along the axis.

The bars have error bars that correspond to one standard deviation below and above the mean.
