Hi! I am Jalen Brooks, a Master’s student in Business Analytics at Xavier University as well as a Data Analytics Intern at Kroger on the telecom engineering team.

Professional Background

I currently work as a data analytics intern at Kroger on the telecom engineering team. A few of my responsibilities include:

• Rebuilt and standardized telecom infrastructure inventory across approximately 20 store divisions, organizing circuit records into division-specific Excel workbooks to improve visibility into network assets and telecom expenses across an inventory of approximately 130,000 circuits.
• Integrated and reconciled data from the REM database, Kroger Telecom Web, Tangle, and Sherpa, using XLOOKUP and advanced Excel functions to verify circuit locations, identify discrepancies, and validate telecom cost information.
• Developed standardized inventory workbooks to create a more accurate and maintainable record of telecom circuits, supporting expense tracking, infrastructure planning, and technology management.
• Analyzed circuit and location data to identify potential telecom cost-reduction opportunities, including circuits associated with closed stores that may still be generating recurring expenses.
• Partnered with IT and telecommunications teams to investigate data discrepancies, validate infrastructure records, and improve the accuracy of technology-related reporting.

I am starting to get more familiar with R, thanks to the profesor. I took the data mining class in the spring where I was able to learn a lot of valuable information. I look forward to continuing my learning in this class.
