Introducing….. Devin Rivera!

Hello, my name is Devin Rivera. I am a part time aide at the Hondo Rick Taylor Recreation Center and I am working on a degree of Business Analytics at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

My Academic Background

• (2020-2024) I went to Hondo Highschool in Hondo, Texas. It is about 45 minutes west from San Antonio. I graduated with college credit and a few hours of classes before I attended college.
• (2024-2025) After high school, I attended Southwest Texas College to finish my basics where I took accounting, and courses fluent in word and excel.
• (2025-Now) I then transferred to the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I am majoring in Business Analytics and have taken plenty of courses involving R, Excel, Word, Financial Calculations, Tableau, Github, and SAS.

Professional Background and Experience

I have held a job at the Rick Taylor Recreation Center since 2022. Main tasks include maintaining a comfortable environment and keeping the Rec Center clean. It requires customer service skills, cashiering, basic cleaning skills (sweeping, mopping, and bleaching), and basic computer skills (typing, word, and excel). The system we use to cashier and keep track of memberships is called Sportsman which I have gained a ton of experience in along the way.

Experience with R

I have been using R for about a year. I took a course with Jamie Humphries at UTSA where we used github and datacamp, which taught me very basic R. However I am still very raw to R and am willing to learn more and more along the way.

Experience with other software helpful for this class

I currently utilize excel, word, and RStudio the most. However I am somewhat familiar with:
