Approach

The source of my dataset is water quality analyses for Canandaigua Lake, primarily focused on the presence of harmful algal blooms (or HABs).

As a resident of Canandaigua, I enjoy getting out on the lake during the warm months like many others in the finger lakes regions. For years these lakes were known for their pristine quality, but around 2014, HABs were first spotted in the region due to climate changes and possible effects of invasive species. I recently started diving into this issue and I would like to use this assignment to understand what data is out there.

The data set I have chosen contains various sampling locations along the lake, bloom confirmations, and analytical tests of different parts of the lake.
