If you're a Class Lead, review the Bible lesson ahead of time so you're ready to teach, not reading it cold.
Not able to make it, or running late? Contact Jake ahead of Sunday so the room is still covered.
Clearly name the behavior that must stop and remind the child of the classroom expectation.
Give a second clear warning. Explain that if the behavior happens again, their parent will be contacted. The child is not placed in time out.
Contact Jake immediately. The Class Lead contacts the parent, or directs Support to do so. Have the child sit separately in a quiet area while Jake meets with the parent and child downstairs.
Give the two-minute warning, then follow the timer — every time, for every transition.
"You have two minutes left. When the timer rings, stop, clean up, and listen for where we are going next."
Support then leads the children to the next space.
After worship, Support moves the children into the teaching classroom for prayer and the Bible lesson. Bring in additional chairs, distribute handouts, and make sure every child is seated before the lesson starts.
After the lesson, move straight into craft or structured small-group breakouts. Toys and games do not come back out — keep the activity structured through pickup.
Do not release the child. Get Jake or the Kids Ministry Leader before anyone leaves with them.
