(2016–2023), predominantly lumbar and
degenerative, led by SPONDY as the
most common primary diagnosis and TLPFF as the most
common primary procedure.

Summary and possible
abstract angles
We have a 315-patient surgical deformity cohort spanning
2016–2023 that is predominantly lumbar and degenerative, with
SPONDY as the leading diagnosis and lateral/anterior
lumbar fusions (e.g., TLPFF, ALIF, XLIF) as the most common
procedures.
Potential directions for a Spine Summit abstract include:
- The multi-region (lumbar + thoracic) subgroup (57
patients) as a distinct deformity phenotype.
- Comparison across fusion approaches — open vs. MIS
vs. lateral (LFF MIS, XLIF, ALIF).
- The deformity / kyphosis subsets, which may pair
well with the radiographic and alignment fields available elsewhere in
the database.
