1 Introduction

Juanito’s Card Vault is a Shopify prototype store designed for Pokémon Trading Card Game enthusiasts. The purpose of this assignment was to organize products into logical collections and improve the store’s navigation so customers can browse products more efficiently. Effective collections and navigation are essential in e-commerce because they improve product discovery, reduce customer frustration, and create a better overall shopping experience.

2 Collections and Categories

To improve product organization, I created the following collections within my Shopify store:

  • Booster Packs
  • Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs)
  • Single Cards
  • Accessories

Each collection groups together similar products, making it easier for customers to browse items based on what they are looking for instead of searching through the entire catalog.

5 Merchandising Logic Explanation

I organized Juanito’s Card Vault into collections based on the way Pokémon card collectors typically shop online. Customers searching for sealed products can browse Booster Packs or Elite Trainer Boxes, while collectors looking for specific cards can visit the Single Cards collection. Accessories were separated into their own category to help customers easily find items that protect or organize their collections. This merchandising strategy creates a logical shopping experience while making the store feel more organized and professional.

6 Customer Experience Explanation

The navigation structure helps customers shop more efficiently by providing direct access to the store’s major product categories. Instead of scrolling through every available product, customers can quickly select the category that best matches what they are looking for. This reduces the time needed to locate products, improves the browsing experience, and encourages customers to continue exploring additional items throughout the store.

7 CPP Farm Store Application Reflection

The same organizational strategy used for Juanito’s Card Vault could also benefit the CPP Farm Store. Instead of displaying every product in one large catalog, the farm store could organize its online inventory into categories such as Fresh Produce, Dairy Products, Pantry Items, Seasonal Products, and Gift Bundles. Creating clear product collections and an easy-to-use navigation menu would improve the customer experience by helping shoppers quickly locate products while showcasing the variety of items offered by the farm store.

9 Conclusion

Creating collections and improving the navigation menu made Juanito’s Card Vault easier to browse and better organized from a customer’s perspective. Well-designed collections help customers locate products more quickly, while a simple navigation structure improves the overall shopping experience. These same e-commerce principles can also be applied to the CPP Farm Store to improve product discovery and create a more user-friendly online shopping experience.
