We all know the saying ‘time is a resource’. Good point and that is not wrong but I want to demonstrate why time is not just a resource but instead a principle.

Why is time a principle?

Firstly lets start by defining a principle. A principle is ‘a basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works’ (Cambridge Dictionary). According to this definition we can then say that the amount of time spent on something contributes to the results you will receive from that thing. You can argue that ‘why is it that I spend 16 hours on something but the results are still bad?’ Well the answer to that is quite simple because time spent has two sides to it which is the focused time spent and the unfocused time spent. You could have spent 16 hours on something but how many of those hours were actually focused time spent.
