We all know the saying “time is a resource”. Good point and that is not wrong but I want to demonstrate why time is not just a resource but instead a principle.
Firstly lets start by defining a principle. A principle is “a basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works” (Cambridge Dictionary). According to this definition we can then say that the amount of time spent on something contributes to the results you will receive from that thing. You can argue that ‘why is it that I spend 16 hours on something but yes the results are still bad?’ Well the answer to that is quite simple because time spent has two sides to it which is the focused time spent and the unfocused time spent. You could have spent 16 hours on something but how many of those hours were actually focused time spent. Could have been 3 hours out of the full 16 and the rest of that time I would call wasted time.

We have 24 hours in a day, and every second of that counts. “…Take advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes.” Ephesians 5:15-16 (TPT). You cannot be advantagiouse if you do not know what you do with every second of the day. If you are like me when I had no idea how I spent my day. I mean I was waiting on what tomorrow had for me. In my dictionary I call that floating (lets just see where the current takes us). Well let me break the news. You will drown! Lets start here. Reflect on the past two days and ask yourself these questions:
How long did I sleep in both days?
Is that number of hours of hours roughly the same?
If not why so?
How long have I spent on my phone rather than being productive?
If you are in a relationship (I mean we not going to hide that, we are dealing with issues here). How much time do you and your partner spend on the phone? (This also applies to that friend of yours, you know who)
How much time outside of classes or work do you have left in the day?
(Reflect on more you can think of)
That is a small example of the type of questions you need to ask yourself, and be honest with yourself.
You will now have an idea of where your time is going, meaning you can see where you time wasters are. What I want you to do is write down all those things in terms of priority meaning the ones that need (and I mean “need”) have to be at the top of the list. for example:
Sleep
Prayer
Classes/Work
Studying
Bible study
Gym
Side projects
….
I think you get the point.
Now we going to start working from the bottom of the list going up. You look at each point and you start to decrease the amount of time you spend on each one that you think is receiving too much time and for the time wasters you cut it out completely (meaning its not coming back). ___________________________________________________________
Lets go back to the beginning. Like Genesis beginning. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void darkness was on the face of the deep. And the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said,”Let there be light”; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 (NKJV)“ So we can see after God created the heavens and the earth. He saw that the earth was formless and void. What did he do after he saw that? He acted upon his discovery and did not just keep it as a discovery.
We tend to say we will do something but only want to do that thing when we feel like it. We can learn from the Lord. He made a discovery and he acted upon that discovery and improved what he had started. “Let Us make man in Our image, according to our likeness;…” Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) If he discovered and finished then there is nothing stopping us from finishing.
Procrastination is a choice!

Planning my Week and Day.
This is what I mean have a weekly schedule Monday to Sunday. Under each day you write down the things you want and have to do for that week and be realistic. Don’t say you will study 15 new chapters in one day.
