About me

Hi, I’m a student majoring Business Analytics at CSUCI.

My current objectives is to become better at utilizing analysis tools and to apply what I’ve learned here into my own job.

My career goal is to work as a supervisory financial management analyst in the government or work in the private sector in a similar role.

Academic Background

I’m currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Analytics. For my undergraduate, I’ve graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business in 2023.

Professional Background

I have worked through a few roles during my career. I started off as an Accounts Payables Clerk for Pleasant Holidays for 8 months. Afterwards, I’ve transitioned into my current role as a Financial Management Analyst at the Point Mugu Naval Base with 2 years of work experience.

Experience with Excel

I heavily utilize Excel at my workplace since Excel and PowerBI are the main tools to visualize where funds are going to and how they are being expensed. I’m very familiar in utilizing formulas (IFS, SUMIFs, XLOOKUP, UNIQUE, etc.).

I’m also very familiar with creating the different graph types. I’m also very familiar with using Power Pivot to effectively filter out the right data as well as using the built-in Excel tools such as the Analysis Toolpak. So overall, I have about 5 years of Excel experience utilizing it heavily during my time as an undergraduate, as a financial management analyst, and as a postgraduate.

Experience with R, Python, PowerBI, & Tableau

I am very familiar in utilizing PowerBI as I create data visualizations that link up with my Excel Spreadsheets for work. I’d say I have about a year of experience utilizing this tool.

For Python, I have been utilizing it to create data analysis through my assignments and projects. Through my coursework, I have been learning how to read and prompt code to better analyze and visualize datasets through tables and graphs.

As for the other tools like R and Tableau, I’ve only had little to no experiences with them but I hope to learn more and better utilize these tools as I progress further into this program.

Experience with other analytic software

As for other analytical software, I would say there’s a few such as Google Colab, VS Code, SQL, and Heuright that I’ve only had months of experience with. I’ve mainly just been an Excel and PowerBI person but I am looking to expand more on what other tools I could improve on or even transition into, to get a more efficient way in analyzing and visualizing data.
