The heat map is the main visual output of D5.3. Its purpose is to present the Democratic Resilience Index in a format that is easy to interpret for researchers, policymakers, project partners, and the wider public. The map displays index values for all European countries for which the required WVS data are available. Countries without sufficient data are shown as unavailable rather than estimated.
The heat map is designed to communicate three types of information: differences in democratic resilience across countries, differences within countries by demographic group, and changes between WVS waves where the same country appears in more than one wave. This design follows the proposal objective of visualizing democratic resilience by country and demographic group and of laying the basis for later panel analysis.
