R Markdown

This is an R Markdown document. Markdown is a simple formatting syntax for authoring HTML, PDF, and MS Word documents. For more details on using R Markdown see http://rmarkdown.rstudio.com.

When you click the Knit button a document will be generated that includes both content as well as the output of any embedded R code chunks within the document. You can embed an R code chunk like this:

summary(cars)
## speed dist
## Min. : 4.0 Min. : 2.00
## 1st Qu.:12.0 1st Qu.: 26.00
## Median :15.0 Median : 36.00
## Mean :15.4 Mean : 42.98
## 3rd Qu.:19.0 3rd Qu.: 56.00
## Max. :25.0 Max. :120.00

Including Plots

You can also embed plots, for example:

Note that the echo = FALSE parameter was added to the code chunk to prevent printing of the R code that generated the plot.

inline text computation

the current time is Mon May 11 10:40:41 AM 2026.
random number is 2.4390708

incorporating graphics

x <- rnorm(100) ; y<-x + rnorm(100, sd=0.5)

here is scatter plot fo the data

par(mar = c(5,4,1,1), las = 1)
plot(x,y, main = "my simulated data")

Making tables with xtable

library(datasets)
data(airquality)
fit <- lm(Ozone ~ Wind +Temp +Solar.R, data= airquality)

here is table fo regression coefficients.

library(xtable)
xt <- xtable(summary(fit))
print(xt, type = "html")
Estimate Std. Error t value Pr(>|t|)
(Intercept) -64.3421 23.0547 -2.79 0.0062
Wind -3.3336 0.6544 -5.09 0.0000
Temp 1.6521 0.2535 6.52 0.0000
Solar.R 0.0598 0.0232 2.58 0.0112
