Introduction

The University of Liberia (UL), through its Center for Testing and Evaluation (CTE), regularly conducts entrance examinations and aptitude assessments as integral components of its admissions procedure. For the year 2026, these entrance exams and aptitude tests will be administered to applicants across six programs: Undergraduate Colleges, Straz-Sinje Technical and Vocational College, Graduate School, A.M. Doglioti College of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, and the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law.

  • The entrance exam is here to identify candidates who are confident they can handle college coursework smoothly, even if they haven’t had extra high school prep. It’s a great way to find those ready to take on the university experience!

  • To obtain admission to the UL Graduate and Professional Schools, the CTE-UL conducts aptitude assessments to select candidates qualified to undertake coursework at UL’s graduate and professional programs.

Note:
On Monday, May 25, 2026, the CTE is planning to hold an Examiners’ Workshop, provided we receive the necessary funding in time. We've learned from past experiences that during the last two tests, the attendees didn't have water to stay hydrated. This time, we'll make sure to keep everyone comfortable and out of the heat because we want to uphold our integrity and take good care of our participants.

Challenges

The entrance registration process began on April 6, as planned. However, those who played key roles in producing, managing, and administering the 2025 second entrance—despite the project’s budget being approved on November 13, 2025—still haven’t received the proper compensation, even though their bank details have already been provided.

The CTE has just nine employees, with seven of them not being data specialists. The Coordinator for the Data Entry Clerks and Mr. Gaye will be based at the Fendall Campus to manage the Computer-based Test, while I’ll be working with the other six staff members at the Capitol Hill campus to print over twenty-six thousand booklets. We truly wouldn’t be able to meet our deadline before Saturday, May 30, 2026, without the support of the regular volunteers who have been helping out since 2019.

Recommendation

We kindly suggest that those who worked on producing, managing, and administering the 2025 second exams receive fair compensation. This will help ensure that the CTE remains well-equipped to hire them again for the 2026 Entrance Cycle. Let’s join hands to maintain the integrity of the Test and work together smoothly.

Appendix-Candidates Identification Scheme

The volunteers who helped produce the photos for the 2025 second exams, which allowed us to identify the candidates, haven’t yet received their well-deserved compensation. The University relies on proper identification of candidates to manage the entrance smoothly. We truly value their contribution, and we want to ensure they are compensated for their efforts. When people aren’t paid, it becomes difficult to invite them back for future support. Let’s come together and uphold the integrity of the test while working harmoniously to achieve our goals.
