Descriptive statistics: is one of the main branches of data analytics. It is answering “what happens in the data?”

• it is classified into five main categories incuding:

1. Measure of central tendency
2. Measure of variation or despersion
3. Measure of shapes
4. Measure of position, and
5. Measure of frequency

• We will cover by the following order:

1. Data cleaning. ii.Data transformation.
2. Data measurement.
3. Data validation, and
4. Data visualization.

Measure of central tendency

Measure of central tendency acting as the backbone of the descriptive statistics.

7 main elememnts are the foundations of the central tendency including:

• Mean.
• Mode.
• Median.
• Mid range.
• Maximum.
• Minimum, and
• Mad.

Mean

In statistics, there are more than 7 types of mean including:

1. Arithmetic mean.
2. Geometric mean.
3. Harmonic mean.
4. Trimmed mean, and
5. Weighted mean.
