• It is classified into 5 main categories including:

2. Measure of variation or dispertion
3. Measure of shapes
4. Measure of positions, and
5. Measure of frequency.

## Measure of central tendency

Measure of central tendency acting as the back bone of the descriptive statistics.

7 main elements are the foundations of the central tendency including:

• Mean,
• Mode,
• Median,
• Mid-range,
• Maximum,
• Minimum, and
• Mad

Mean

In statistics there are more than 7 types of mean including:

1. arithmetric mean,
2. geometric mean,
3. hermonic mean,
4. trimmed mean and,
5. weighted mean.
