*Mount Coffee Hydropower Plant drops to 15โ€“18 MW during dry season. Widths are illustrative proportions.

The Problem
  • Mount Coffee Hydro falls to 15โ€“18 MW every dry season
  • National demand approaches 145 MW โ€” a 130 MW gap
  • Severe load shedding cripples homes, businesses & public services
  • Investment confidence undermined across all sectors
  • Economic activity constrained; industrial growth stalled
The Solution
  • 100 MW HFO Thermal Power Plant at Bushrod Island, Monrovia
  • Aligned with LEC Strategic Plan 2025โ€“2030
  • Supports Liberia National Energy Compact commitments
  • Directly serves Mission 300 โ€” 75% electrification by 2030
  • Strong Government of Liberia backing confirmed

๐Ÿค What We Are Seeking

The Government of Liberia and LEC seek a capable and experienced EPC partner to deliver this project on a turnkey basis, covering engineering, procurement, and construction โ€” with an integrated financing solution. The Government of Liberia stands ready to provide full support for the project's delivery.

  • Immediate demand absorption โ€” no market development needed
  • National priority status accelerates permitting & land access

Risk Mitigants

  • Government of Liberia committed to stand behind project delivery
  • HFO technology: proven, cost-efficient in sub-Saharan markets
  • Strong donor & DFI interest in Liberia energy sector
  • Multi-policy alignment reduces regulatory & approval risk
  • Existing grid infrastructure at Bushrod Island location

๐ŸŒŸ Project Overview

Bridgsite Group proposes to develop a modern gold aggregation, processing, and refining complex in Liberia. The facility will serve licensed artisanal and small-scale miners (ASM) through a structured aggregation and beneficiation model โ€” ending raw ore exports and retaining economic value within Liberia. Submitted to the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs on 18 March 2026.

What the Facility Will Do
  • Formalize & aggregate gold output from licensed ASM miners
  • Provide transparent weighing, assaying & buying systems
  • Centralized processing, refining & value-addition services
  • Reduce raw-ore exports โ€” retain economic value in Liberia
  • Strengthen participation in regional & global gold value chains
  • Enhance rural livelihoods through structured market access
  • Create direct & indirect jobs across mining communities
Government Partnership Benefits
  • Land allocation / rights-of-use for the project site
  • Facilitating ASM engagement via cooperatives & licensed groups
  • Streamlined regulatory approvals & PPP incentives
  • Security, traceability & compliance standards support
  • Facility recognized as national beneficiation centre
  • Ownership transfer to GoL at end of concession
  • Technology transfer & long-term national benefit
