From quick scrolls between classes to hours spent on TikTok or Instagram, the line between casual use and overuse is increasingly blurred. This raises a critical question: does spending more time on social media actually reduce productivity, or is the relationship more complex?

Using data from the Social Media Addiction vs. Productivity Dataset, this study explores how daily social media usage influences actual productivity, while also considering factors like sleep, burnout, and perceived performance.
