1 Positron vs RStudio

1.1 Prompt: Based on what you learned, what do you like about Positron compared with RStudio?

Prompt: Based on what you learned from Step 1 and Step 3, what do you like about Positron compared with RStudio?

Response:
I honestly prefer RStudio more than Positron. I like the format and set up of RStudio more, and in my opinion has a better UI. I’m sure it’s just because I learned on Rstudio, that I like Rstudio more, but relearning certain things on Positron sounds like a hassle to me.

2 AI inside Positron

2.1 Prompt: Describe the various ways you can use AI inside Positron.

Prompt: In Step 4, the video demonstrates how you can use AI. Describe the various ways you can use AI inside Positron. Some are free while others are not.

Response:
You can use AI, like Copilot, to autofill lines of code for you, or help you solve errors you might be experiencing. This can make writing code much more efficient since you don’t have to type everything completely out, and just need to press tab or enter to autofill what Copilot is saying.


2.2 Prompt: Which AI tools have you installed or set up? Which AI tools did you find beneficial?

Response:
So far I only have Copilot set up. I don’t want more AI tools than that, and am fine with just the one.


3 GitHub Copilot education + reflection

3.1 Prompt: Play with it and do you find it helpful or distracting?

Response:

I found Copilot to be very distracting and ended up turning it off. I enjoy writing the code myself, and Copilot kept trying to autofill what I was saying and was often wrong, and then the ghost text would distract me or get in my way. I understand what it is there for, and why people will find it helpful, but more me personally it was just a hindrance, which is why I disabled it.
