This panel showcases the proprietary V-Rank system developed for the Pro Climbing League - PCL, London. While athletes enter with a baseline IFSC-derived score, the engine is applied to the Head-to-Head format to track real-time rank evolution.
This algorithm evaluates match outcomes through the lens of stylistic affinity (e.g, Coordintation, Physical, Technical), adjusting ‘V-Scores’ based on match results (win/lose) and specific movement-style demands of each due.
In a nutshell: winning against an opponent with a higher V-Score, and succeeding on a problem type outside an athlete’s ‘specialty’ style (see References), yields a significantly higher points gain than a standard victory.
