3: Short Responses

1. What question were you trying to answer? (1–2 sentences)

I wanted to find out in which stage user engagement would fall off during a typical E-commerce journey.

2. What did you find? (2–4 bullets with at least one number/percentage)

  • Out of 44,956 sessions, only 13,728 users actually viewed a product (which comes to to around 71.7% of users left before viewing any item)

  • There was only a 76.7% drop between “View Item” and “Add to Cart”, showing users who viewed products are likely interested in what they are viewing.

  • Only 3,225 users added items to their cart, which is a measly 7.2% of total users who access an E-commerce website.

  • 49% of users who added an item in their cart would complete a purchase.

3. What’s your next investigation step based on the results? (1–2 sentences)

I would next analyze the data more deeply to discover specific trends, such as performance bewteen mobile and desktop users in E-commerce shopping.

4. What’s one action you would recommend for your CEP/client? (1–2 bullets)

  • Optimize product pages in order to increase the likelihood of consumer who view an item will add it to their cart, as this stage has the highest drop off percentage.
