Introduction

I’m Brooke Marshall and I’m a senior at UTSA studying business analytics.

It’s me!
It’s me!

Synopsis

I live in San Antonio right now, but originally I’m from Corpus Christi, and, more originally, from Washington. I’ve lived all over the world because my dad was in the military when I was growing up. I like to travel, play video games, and write in my free time. I know an obscene amount about Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, D&D, and a handful of indie games.

Also–I have a cat. His name is Kalos (as in the Pokemon region). See him below.

Academic Background

I went to High School in Corpus Christi, taking a good amount of college credits with Del Mar college and UT Austin while I was there. And since then, all of my college education thus far has been with UTSA. I started out studying computer science and changed my major to business analytics during my sophomore year.

Experience with R and Data Mining

I’ve taken multiple classes that required working with R, so I’m relatively comfortable at this point, but this semester is definitely a turning point for doing more complex tasks like data mining with it. Most of the statistical analysis and prediction work I’ve done in the past has been with SAS.

Experience with other analytic software

In the past, I’ve worked with Excel, R, Tableau, and SAS. I also learned to code in Java Script and Python while I was still majoring in Computer Science but, I’m definitely a little bit rusty with them now.
